New developments in a home invasion and shooting in Broken Arrow. Police say they are not sure why the suspect, Stephen Richardson, broke into the home Saturday night. The 19-year-old was reportedly shot three times by the homeowner. Major Carol Newell says police still have people they want to interview. "The suspect didn't have a vehicle over there so obviously he was dropped off by someone. We want to find out what he was doing prior to this incident to try and piece together a timeline and maybe determine what it was that led him to that residence," says Newell.
The homeowner told police he heard glass breaking and saw the intruder and shot. While some reports quote police as saying the 19-year-old was drunk and thought he was breaking into his own home-- Newell says police are still not sure. "We really don't have a real clear understanding of what he was doing in that particular home and that particular neighborhood. It is nowhere near his residence so that couldn't be it," explains Newell. She adds the investigation is active and the suspect is still hospitalized.

A 9-year-old boy is attacked by a group of suspects during a home invasion at 822 N. Troost Avenue. The boy was reportedly hit in the head with a crowbar shortly before 10pm Sunday night. The boy was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Police believe 10 suspects could be involved in the home invasion. A 26-year-old woman was also in the home at the time of the break-in.
Tulsa Police Officer Leland Ashley says police got a tag number for the suspect that led them to 1854 W. 57th Place. When officers arrived, he says several people ran and several suspects would not come out of the home. Police say eventually several more suspects came out of the home but the Special Operations Team was called to flush out the two remaining suspects.
Ashley says detectives are interviewing the suspects. He adds with so many suspects officers have a lot of information that has to be collected, "You just try to get their statement and see who is not telling the truth and also the eyewitnesses from the house on N. Troost and then we will go from there and see who needs to be charged in this crime."

(Tulsa, OK) -- There's an arrest in the alleged home invasion murder in west Tulsa this week. It's not an intruder, it's the husband. Kastner claimed an intruder shot Lori, then shot him in the hand during a struggle, but investigators say he made it all up. The chief says Kastner's lie unnecessarily scared people, and he criticized the media for adding to the fear with unquestioned reporting of the home invasion angle and perpetuating the fraud.
