Oklahoma had three players named to the pre-season Nagurski List. Sooner defenders Auston English, DeMarcus Granger, and Nic Harris are among the 88 players who could be named get trophy as the best defensive player in college football. .

 The good news for the University of Tulsa has to do with a transfer. G.J Kinne has left Texas and signed with TU after a season in Austin. Kinne is a 6'1, 220 pound right hander who was fourth on the Longhorns depth chart before he decided o move on. Kinne was a two time Texas class 3A offensive player of the year and threw 47 touchdown passes as a senior with only one interception. Tulsa head coach Todd Graham compares Kinne to for Hurricane star Paul Smith. Kinne will sit out 2008 and have three years of eligibility beginning in 2009.
