Locals bring home baseball championships!
The Owasso Rams are in the 6A baseball finals so often, they might as well just leave the name on the dugout. Owasso made their 11th finals trip in the last 12 years and won their seventh title with a 5-2 win over Moore Tuesday night in Norman. The Rams didn't make it easy on themselves with four turnovers but Brian Flynn allowed just two runs over six innings to help get the win.
The Rams aren't the only team to bring home a big trophy. Bixby endured a three hour rain delay and then a bus ride before beating Chickasha 2-0 to win the 5A title. The Spartans and Fighting Chicks were about to get underway in Shawnee when the rain started. After the long delay, OSSAA officials decided to load everyone up and head to Norman to play. The teams began just before 10:00 p.m. and the Spartans Ryan Furlong threw a complete-game, four-hit shutout. It's the first baseball title for Bixby in 30 year!
