Times are good at Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Coaches at both schools are getting some pretty significant bumps in pay with OU head basketball coach Jeff Capel heading the list with a $300,000 increase. With the extra cash, Capel will pass the one million dollars per year club.

Capel is not the only hoops coach with some extra pocket money. Capel's assistants Mark Cline, Ben Betts, and Oronde Taliaferro will each make an additional $21,000.

OSU womens head coach Kurt Budke will make an extra $100,000 next season after his Cowgirls team made the NCAA tournament for the second straight season.

OU Football coaches and their raises;

Kevin Wilson - $25,000

Brent Venables - $30,000

Jackie Shipp - $20,000

Cale Gundy - $20,000

Bobby Jack Wright - $20,000

James Patton - $23,000

Josh Heupel - $20,000

What others are saying

  • Coaches and athletes almost ALL make too much money. It's a sport, let's treat it like a sport. This is nuts.
