(audio) Tulsa hammers St. Mary's 72-47 to open the hoops season
Tulsa jumped out to an 18-2 lead, then allowed St Mary's to roar back to tie the game at 30 each. That was the end of the good news for the Rattlers as Tulsa pulled away to 72-47 win to open the 2008-'09 season.
Listen as Doug Wojcik talks about the game from the Hurricane locker room.
Ben Ozoh and Justin Hurtt had 16 each while Steven Idlet put down a career high 15 in the win. Jerome Jordan scored only nine but it was his presence that allowed Idlet to score some clean up points.
TU outrebounded the Rattlers 36-27 and forced 18 turnovers.
The Hurricane will only have a day to rest before hosting Isiah Thomas' Florida International.
