Legendary Tulsa broadcaster Paul Harvey lost his beloved wife of 68 years on Saturday, Angel Harveyfollowing a battle with leukemia.

Lynne Cooper Harvey (recalled by Paul Harvey as "Angel") was 92.

Listeners from around the world have long known Angel through Paul Harvey's affectionate words about her.

Harvey has been off the air for many weeks and will hopefully return to the airwaves of KRMG very soon.

We are all very saddened to learn of Angel's death.

  • Condolences for Paul Harvey family
I was sorry to hear of your beloved wife's passing. I know you will greatly miss her. Paul, Jr. I too know the loss of my mother and my heart goes out to you. I was first introduced to Paul Harvey when he appeared on a Tulsa TV station, probably in the late 50's or early 60's. I truly enjoy your news and comments and the rest of the story and miss them when I can't hear them. Know that you are in our prayers.
  • Condolences for Paul Hary and his son
I was so very sorry to hear of Angel's passing. Since my Dad listened to Paul Harvey I was introduced to him at a young age and for some time didn't listen to him, but as an adult try not to miss his broadcast. Selfishly I am hoping he will return to the airwaves soon. Sure miss him. My condolences to Paul and his son!
  • P Harvey's Angel
Mr. Harvey, as we fell in love with you and your voice and your comments, we also fell in love with Angel because of your love for her---she was something very special and continues to do so--my condolences to you and your son, Paul Jr. and the 'rest of the family'-may God give you peace and strength each moment of the day--you have always been a bright spot in my day; may God's richly bless you as walk with Him daily--former Tulsan--Gigi
  • Paul & Angel
I first started listening to Paul Harvey when I was in the 7th grade because my school bus driver had it on every morning. That continued through my years in the Air Force where I listened to Paul on WOW AM in Omaha, NE. Every time I've moved I've made it a point to scan the AM stations around noon to find out which local station aired Paul's program.
All these years, listening to countless broadcasts, I don't believe I have ever heard Paul tell a joke at Angel's expense. Every other married man I know has on occasion told a "Henny Youngman" type joke about his wife, but I don't remember Paul ever doing that. Every time he ever mentioned Angel's name it was accompanied by words of praise and admiration. We would all be better people if we could model ourselves after Paul and model our marriages after the marriage of Paul and Angel.
  • Sympathy
We are sorry for your loss and heaven's gain, and we mourn the loss of Angel with you. She will be missed, and her contributions to the world will continue to bear witness of a life well lived, a race that was well run, and a faithful heart to the finish. God bless you and your family!
  • Angel
Lynne Harvey has her wings as she has always been an angel, to lifemate Paul and now to God.
We grieve with Paul and Paul Jr. and will remember them in prayer.
As a lifelong Paul Harvey listener, I too will miss Angel's work that has made Paul Harvey News and Comment and the Rest of the Story the best of the best.
