VIDEO: What in the WORLD is this?
The YouTube description is rather short and simple:
An unknown lifeform picked up by sewer snakecam in North Carolina. Believed to be of ET origin.
While that seems hardly believable, the video is certainly ... curious.
UPDATE: Some are speculating that these images may be of Bryozoans. This VIDEO shows a couple of rednecks crassly dealing with apparent Bryozoans.

What others are saying
- slowly beating alien heartdefinitely a cluster of tubificids, and more probably a lateral line than a sewer pipe. freaky tho.
- Aliens?I think somebody better get Sigourney Weaver on the line, PRONTO!!
- not bryozoansThese are not bryozoans! They are clumps of annelid worms, almost certainly tubificids (Naididae, probably genus Tubifex). Normally these occur in soil and sediment, especially at the bottom and edges of polluted streams. In the photo they have apparently entered a pipeline somehow, and in the absence of soil they are coiling around each other. The contractions you see are the result of a single worm contracting and then stimulating all the others to do the same almost simultaneously, so it looks like a single big muscle contracting.
http://gizmodo.com/5305380/disgusting-sewer-creature-update-its-fing-real - Life formAre we sure this isn't Nancy Pelosi's brain
- Bryozoan?I am not an expert on bryozoans but from what I have seen of them and read of them, this is not one. It seems to have a singular awareness and not a hive mind. But then again I am not an expert.
- life formIf this is a hoax I tip my hat. I do not believe that it is, the response to environmental change indicates a primary threat response.(i.e. withdrawing....)My guess is a new type of invertebrate, similar to sea cucumbers. Only a live specimen could prove out the classification of the animal in question.
- what is it ?sure this isnt froma sci fi movie ? if it isnt dont know, looks like a close up and very small, the zoom and clearity of it, looks like very small plumbing, not a sewer, to me anyways.
- EweeeeeWhatever you do, don't make the herpes angry!
- UhhhhThat's jacked up...
