Trailer Fatality
TECUMSEH, Okla. (AP) - Authorities say a Maud man and his passenger were killed when the pickup truck he was driving collided with a trailer that detached from another vehicle.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 83-year-old Raymond Taylor suffered massive injuries and died at the scene of the accident about 2:15 p.m. yesterday on Oklahoma Highway 9 near Tecumseh.
Troopers say the passenger was 83-year-old Grady Strawn, also of Maud. Strawn was flown by medical helicopter to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he died from his injuries about 9 p.m.
According to an accident report, Taylor's truck was headed west on the highway and a pickup driven by Darrell Mackey was going east when the trailer attached to Mackey's truck came loose.
Taylor couldn't avoid the collision.
The patrol says another vehicle collided with the trailer, but the driver wasn't injured.
Mackey wasn't hurt.
