A tale of two streets plans- confusion and concern
The council has not even made the final decision which street improvement package will go to the voters in November-- either the 5-year and 12-year plan or both. But that has not stopped growing concern about the outcome. Tulsa City Councilor Bill Martinson voices his concern that sending two plans to the ballot box means doom for both. He adds, "We have got some councilors that feel the citizens ought to make the choice and unfortunately I think what that is going to do is condemm both of them to failure." Martinson explains the city needs to have more than 50% of the vote to pass a street improvement funding package. He says too many choices leads to confusion and splits the vote.
