Oklahomans positive on Biden pick
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The selection of veteran Delaware Sen. Joe Biden as freshman Sen. Barack Obama's running mate is being praised by Oklahoma delegates to the Democratic National Convention.
Oklahomans say Biden will bring necessary experience to a ticket headed by the presumptive Democratic nominee.
Former Oklahoma U.S. Rep. Brad Carson, a delegate from Claremore, says Biden has more experience in foreign policy than anyone in American politics. Carson says the choice demonstrates Obama's good judgment in choosing a running mate.
U.S. Rep. Dan Boren, who as an elected official is a superdelegate, says the pick of Biden adds a wealth of foreign policy experience to the ticket.
Boren says the Biden family has been close to his own for many years and that he has always been a man of character.
