(Tulsa, OK) -- Tulsa gets some help in the effort to preserve and revitalize historic downtown buildings. The city is officially designated a 'Preserve America' community. It makes Tulsa eligible for federal Preserve America grants and other resources. A grant will be used to survey downtown and determine what buildings should be saved and rehabilitated. Preserve America is a White House initiative to encourage efforts to preserve the country's cultural heritage. The designation ceremony was held in the historic Philtower building where the upper floors are being converted into lofts, creating Tulsa's first mixed-use high rise.
