Two weekend shootings-Two murder investigations
The victim in Tulsa's latest murder investigation is identified. Billy Wayne Alexander was reportedly shot multiple times Saturday night at Sawmill Apartments. Tulsa Police say the 25-year-old was in his East Tulsa apartment at 12938 E. 35th Street. Officer Leland Ashley says 8 people were seen running from the area of the shooting. No arrests have been made.
Tulsa police are also investigating a home invasion shooting from Sunday afternoon at 1240 S. 73rd E. Avenue, just off 11th street between Sheridan and Memorial. The victim, Billy Ray Ryder, was reportedly shot in the upper torso. Tulsa police say they learned Monday morning he had died from the injuries. Ryder was reportedly shot after two men knocked on his door then forced their way into the apartment when he slowly opened the door. Tulsa officer Leland Ashley says the men argued for a short period of time and then shot the victim in front of several other people who were inside the apartment. Police say a neighbor, who heard the shot, chased after the suspects and shot at the suspects but they got away in a Silver newer model Nissan Altima or Maxima.
