Lawmaker wants to ban Cocaine energy drink
OKLAHOMA CITY, Ok. - Newstalk 740/KRMG's Steve Berg says there's already a ban, obviously, on cocaine the drug. But State Rep. Mike Shelton from Oklahoma City wants to ban Cocaine, the energy drink. That's right, there's an energy drink that's named and spelled just like the drug. Shelton saw a couple of teenagers buying it and thinks it sends the wrong message to kids. But some adults, like Cory Rula, who's a fan of the drink, say it's much ado about nothing. He says, "It is the best energy drink on the market. I have not found anything better. I think that there is other problems to be worrying about more than energy drink." Legislators like Shelton might be playing right into the company's hands. A spokesman says they thrive on the negative publicity. They say it helped when they launched the product three years ago.
