(Tulsa, Ok)--He is the first to enter the race for Tulsa's Mayor, but no one expects Dewey Bartlett will be the last. The Republican former City Councilor says he wants to stop the partisan bickering and unify Tulsa. He says creating jobs will be a priority. While he is in the other political party, Bartlett has long been a fan of Democrat Mayor Kathy Taylor. In fact Bartlett admits if Taylor was seeking a second term he would not be in the Mayor's race. Also he refuses to be critical of Taylor and adds he would also take a business approach to running the city.

Announced candidate Clay Clark says Dewey Bartlett Jr. needs to switch political parties

Tulsa, Oklahoma – In an unprecedented moved, Republican Mayoral candidate and Tulsa businessman Clay Clark says that Republican Mayor candidate Dewey Bartlett Jr. needs to switch political parties. "It really is not that complicated, if Dewey Bartlett Jr. is a Republican then Michael Jackson was normal looking. I am sure that Mr. Bartlett is a great guy, but he has continuously praised Mayor Kathy Taylor and he pledged to continue her approach to government and policies. If Mr. Bartlett wants to endorse Democrats so much then he needs switch parties, it is that simple. He will spend a half million dollars on commercials to try to convince Tulsa that he is a Republican, but he is not and Tulsans need to know that."

Clark has been invited to speak at local Tea Party being hosted at Haikey Creek in Broken Arrow this weekend. He says that his campaign is continuing to build up momentum from local Tulsa businessmen and conservative voters in the community.

  • Dewey Junior
I always liked his dad when he was governor. My only hesitation to vote for junior would be his years of being associated with the turnpike authority and that welfare drain on Oklahoma drivers. I also believe he attended college out of state...I always wondered if dad Dewey and junior thought TU, OSU, and OU were inferior to universities out of state?
