Education revenue from Oklahoma lottery expected to drop by about $2.5-million next year
OKLAHOMA CITY, Ok. - The Oklahoma Lottery is expecting a drop in school education revenue of about $2.5-million for next year. State Lottery Commission Executive Director Jim Scroggins says the slow economy and Arkansas starting up its own state lottery are contributing to the decline in revenue in Oklahoma. But he says there's good news. Scroggins says, "We've got some sales projections that we think we won't have any trouble making and that way we will be able to make the $66.7 million for profit next year." Powerball sales should be up next year but scratch-off ticket sales are expected to drop.
