MUSKOGEE, Ok. - AM 740 and FM 102.3 News/Talk KRMG's Steve Berg reports that "crazy" is how Muskogee County officials describe what the two did and, in fact, a judge has ordered a mental compentency evaluation for both 26-year-old Austin Mullins and 23-year-old Krystal Lewis. Mullins is accused of taking a 7-week old Jack Russell puppy and shooting it at least ten times with a .22 caliber gun. Lewis is accused of then taking the dog and skinning it because she wanted to make a belt. Muskogee County Deputy George Roberson says, "I've worked 'cruelty to animal' cases, 'dog dumping', but never seen anything of this nature.". Both are charged with animal cruelty.
