Thousands of items from the Picjer-Cardin School District were auctioned off Sunday.

The 90-year-old school district graduated the last class in May.

The district is within the 40-square-mile Tar Creek Superfund site that's polluted after decades of lead and zinc mining.

The concrete gorilla mascot statue along with sports equipment and lockers were all up for sale.
