Woman, 2 kids hide; thieves take TV, game console
TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Police in Tulsa say a woman and her two small children hid in a closet early Sunday as thieves broke down the family's front door and took a television set and a game console.
Police say three men kicked in the door of the home about 3:30 a.m., and two men were arrested after they were found hiding in bushes near where the television set and Playstation console were abandoned in the back yard of a nearby home.
Along with the electronic equipment, Tulsa officers said they found a single-shot shotgun with an empty shell that they believe was the source of a gunshot they heard as they arrived at the scene. An officer said the shotgun may have gone off as the men threw down the merchandise and ran.
