Big Interest in Tulsa's Latest H1N1 Clinic

(Tulsa, OK) - There's still a lot of interest in the Tulsa Health Department's H1N1 walk in vaccination clinics. Gary Davis is one of the people giving injections. He says his worst customers are preschool aged children. "They're not scared when they come in but when they see the needle they get really scared. Swine flu hospitalizations are down but Latoya Knighton with the Tulsa Health Department says they still are encouraging people to be vaccinated, especially their target groups like pregnant women. "Because their body is going through so many changes, their immune system is not as strong as it would be if they were not pregnant." Tuesday's clinic on the fairgrounds is the last one currently scheduled this month.
What others are saying
- H1N1 SNAFU AGAINFor several years Tulsa Health Dept. held drive thru clinics for the annual flu shot; this was touted as a practice for a mass immunization event. Now that we are faced with a need for large-scale vaccinations, why doesn't THD implement their drive-thru clinics for which they are already trained to do.
