Gunman robs newly-opened north Tulsa grocery store
TULSA, Ok. - A gunman robbed a north Tulsa grocery store just 3 weeks after it opened for business. The Gateway Market at Pine and Peoria was robbed about 10:20 p.m. Saturday. Deadrick Gillespin (shown) is the assistant manager. He said, "Myself and the head cashier was coming out of the safe room and a gentleman walked up to us with a chrome-plated gun and ordered us to get back into the safe room and empty the safe out." Gillespin said it took about ten minutes to open the safe. The suspect then ordered the employees to put all of the money into a bag. Gillespin said the suspect was last seen running out the front door and down the sidewalk.
What others are saying
- What a shock! And they wonder why it took so long to open another grocery store in North Tulsa.
- This is precisely why North Tulsa has nothing but run down, poor excuses for establishments and empty buildings. I am a business owner (who lives in north Tulsa) and I shutter when considering opening anything in these neighborhoods.
