Tulsa Police officers may be back on the job with today's swearing-in ceremony but the legacy of a lay-off lingers.  One of the 51 officers sworn in Friday is Officer Matt Arnold.  He admitted it was hard to forget about losing his job 6 months ago and he was apprehensive as he walked into the swearing-in ceremony.
"I was more frustrated that this happened at all but a lot of those feelings kind of went away and it was just a feeling of pride to be apart of this.  And when you think about it, so many people who got laid off and had the opportunity to go some eslewhere and wanted to stay in Tulsa," says Arnold.

While he is back on the job and employed full-time, his life is not back to normal.  He admits the lay-off meant sacrifice and was tough on his finances and his family.  Arnold explains he initially worried how he would support his family and take care of his two youngs sons.  "It was a huge strain on my marriage.  My wife and I are not even sure we want to stay together now and it was not only because of the layoffs but the stress financially from the layoff definitely is a big part of our trial separation now," says Arnold.

Another round of Tulsa Police officers will be sworn-in on August 2nd.  "And job security is something that is definitely at the forefront of our minds and we put that aside to come back and do the job we love and serve a community that we love," says Arnold.  He says he did not want to do anything but work for T.P.D but recenlty took a job with the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.  Ironically, he completed his training with the county on the same day he was sworn-in again with the Tulsa Police Department.
