Standoff with shooting suspect in west Tulsa ends in arrest; victim has died

Police have now released the identity of the woman killed Wednesday at a west Tulsa apartment complex. Police believe 61-year-old Myrna Daniels was killed over a dispute with a neighbor about smoking.

Police said around 7:30 a.m. they responded to multiple calls about a shooting at an apartment complex near 17th and Southwest Boulevard.

Police said officers located a female shooting victim inside an apartment who was rushed to the hospital.

The woman, as yet unnamed by authorities, died from her wounds at the hospital.

Police confirmed she was shot multiple times.

The suspect in her murder barricaded himself in his apartment, where he reportedly lived next door to the victim.

Witnesses indicated that the two had been fighting about smoking cigarettes outside their door.
