Tulsa Police say a woman is dead after a head-on crash on 71st street just west of the Arkansas River bridge around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Sgt. Will Dalsing says a gold Ford F-150 pickup truck was going eastbound on 71st street when it apparently crossed the center line for some unknown reason and hit the woman’s black Infiniti SUV head-on.
He says the woman was killed instantly by the impact.
The man driving the pickup truck was critically injured and was taken to Saint Francis Hospital.
Police say the road was closed down in both directions for around three hours from Riverside Drive to Elwood Avenue because there was debris from the crash strewn across both sides of the road.
As of 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, no names have been released.
They say the woman was a white female in her 60′s.
Police say a lack of seat belt use may have been a factor in the crash.
