
- $4.4 million to resurface eight miles of Interstate 244, beginning at the east end of the bridge crossing U.S. 75 and extending east. The project is expected to take 70 days to complete and was awarded to APAC-Oklahoma Inc. of Tulsa.
- $1.2 million to repair pavement along U.S. 169, beginning at 51st Street and extending north to 21st Street. That project is expected to take 100 days to complete and was awarded to Penhall Co. of Rogers, Minn.
Work on both projects is expected to begin within a month.
>br> All lanes will remain open during peak travel times and on major holiday weekends for both projects, according to ODOT.
In areas where there are three or more lanes, two lanes will be closed on weekends and between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. on weekdays for overnight work.
Commissioners also approved more than $963,000 to install cable barriers along Interstate 44 beginning at Interstate 244 east of downtown and extending 2.4 miles east.
The barriers also will be installed along Interstate 244 beginning at 89th East Avenue and extending 2.8 miles east.
Work on the cable barrier project is expected to be complete by late November. The project was awarded to Fulsom Construction Co. Inc. of Shidler.
