TULSA, Okla. (KOKI) — A center dedicated to telling the history of Greenwood and the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre is finally opening its doors to the public on Wednesday.
The unique history center opens during the Centennial year of the Tulsa Race Massacre at the corner of Greenwood and Archer.

The grand opening on Wednesday comes two months after the history center hosted a dedication ceremony in June that offered a sneak peak for people to see exhibits. Descendants from the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre were the first to visit the center after the ceremony.
The history center says, “Greenwood Rising honors the icons of Black Wall Street memorializes the victims of the massacre and examines the lessons of the past to inspire meaningful, sustainable action in the present.”
