The Oklahoma Department of Corrections issued a statewide lockdown Friday evening after an incident at Dick Conner Correctional Center in Hominy.

On Monday, ODOC said the incident was a stabbing that resulted in the death of an inmate.

At this point, we do not know who was involved in the stabbing.

We’re told the lockdown was put in place for the safety and security of employees and inmates.

While Dick Conner remains under lockdown, ODOC says the lockdown was lifted for Mabel Bassett Correctional Center in McLoud and Eddie Warrior Correctional Center in Taft.

The lockdown was also lifted at all community corrections centers, the agency said.

Visitation at all facilities is expected to return to normal by Friday.
