Highway 75 bridge project on hold due to eagle’s nest

JENKS, Okla. — A bridge project on Highway 75 near Jenks is on hold due to an eagle’s nest found in the area.

On Thursday, The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) said it began working with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife service to find a resolution after the nest was found in the construction area near Polecat Bridge, just north of the Creek Turnpike.

On Friday, Tulsa City Councilor Phil Lakin said the project is now on hold due to the eagle’s nest and further study is ongoing.

All lanes are open, and will remain open, until a solution is found with the wildlife.

ODOT said it wants to be certain it can find harmony between the eagles’ needs, and its construction objectives.
