Claremore man dies in single-vehicle crash in east Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — A Claremore man is dead after he was involved in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning, according to the Tulsa Police Department.

According to police, officers responded to the area of 22100 East 31st Street around 7:55 a.m. to investigate a single-vehicle crash. Once on scene, officers  found a gray Honda Civic upside down in a pasture just north of the roadway.

Officers and firefighters rushed to aid the driver, identified as Craig Douglas Eberhart of Claremore, but determined he died as a result of serious injuries sustained in the crash. 

During the course of the investigation, the officers determined the driver was traveling eastbound on 31st Street a a high rate of speed when he topped a hill and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle swerved left and left the roadway when it struck a fence and rolled several times before coming to rest is the pasture. 

Police say Eberhart was the only person in the vehicle and there was no evidence that any other vehicle was involved in the crash.
