TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Police say they found a man crawling out of burning car in Brookside overnight.
Police say around 4:29 a.m. this morning, officers responded to an alarm near 37th and Peoria and found smoke coming from the pink vintage Volkswagen Beetle that sits outside Stash Apparel and Gifts.
Then, they say 35-year-old Michael Thompson, who had apparently fallen asleep inside the car, came crawling out of the burning vehicle.
They say the car was quickly engulfed in flames and nearly spread to the building when Tulsa Firefighters arrived and put it out.
Police say Thompson was arrested and booked into the Tulsa County Jail on arson complaints.
