TULSA, Okla. — Two people are dead after being involved in a crash in west Tulsa, according to the Tulsa Police Department.
According to police, officers responded to a crash near 64th and Peoria around 12:30 a.m. on Monday.
Witnesses say they saw the driver of a maroon GMC Yukon speeding northbound on Peoria going near 100 mph and going into oncoming traffic. Police say the driver, identified as 21-year-old Shy’Mien Hall, overcorrected and rolled before hitting two utility poles near 64th Street.
Hall and a rear passenger, identified as Kaylin Cardwell, 27, were trapped in the vehicle while a front passenger, Derrion Smith, 21, was ejected.
Cardwell died at the scene as a result of the crash. Smith was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Hall was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries. Police say he had a .20 blood alcohol concentration, more than double the legal limit.
Hall was arrested on Thursday and booked into Tulsa County Jail for two counts of second-degree murder.
