Tulsa Tech Peoria Campus students to resume classes at alternate locations March 23

By Fox23.com News Staff

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Tech Peoria Campus students are set to resume classes at alternate locations starting March 23 after a tornado damaged the north Tulsa campus.

The Peoria Campus was damaged during storms that moved through the area on March 6.

No students were in the building when the tornado hit, but ceilings and classrooms were leveled by high winds. Tulsa Tech estimates it could take two years to fully rebuild the building.

Tulsa Tech said students and parents have an email and communication from their instructor about continuing career training for the remainder of the school year.

Classes will resume for the impacted students on March 23 at a different campus.

Peoria Campus faculty and staff, alongside district administration, have been working hard all week to find alternative locations for the career training programs normally housed at Peoria, Tulsa Tech said.

Tulsa Tech said it is confident these locations will provide a tremendous landing place for students to finish their training during the remainder of the school year.

Transportation teams with Tulsa Tech and high schools have been communicating regarding adjusted bus schedules and routes.

Students and parents should contact their high school transportation department for details about specific bus routes to Tulsa Tech.
