Tulsa man sentenced to 32 years in prison for deadly 2025 shooting

TULSA, Okla. — Dennis Garrison has been sentenced to 32 years in prison for the 2025 shooting death of a 30-year old man

According to police, on Jan. 9, 2025 officers responded to a shooting at the Plaza Hills Apartment near 21st Street and 129th East Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a man in his 30s deceased and in the street. 

Police identified Dennis Garrison as the suspect and arrested him for first degree murder. He was 18 at the time. 

In August 2025, a Tulsa County court entered a not guilty plea to first degree murder on behalf of Garrison. 

On February 9, the state amended his charge of first degree murder to second degree and Garrison pleaded guilty. 

On Monday, Garrison was sentenced to 32 years in prison for second degree murder.
