By Fox23.com News Staff

UPDATE 3/11/2026 — Regalado has decided not run for Congress at this time.

“After careful thought and prayerful consideration, I have decided not to be a candidate for Congress at this time. While I will not be entering this federal race, my commitment to public service and to the people of Tulsa County remains strong as ever.”

Regalado says he has not ruled out running for public office in the future, but will be at the state or local level.

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa County Sheriff Vic Regalado has announced he is considering running for Congress.

“I am considering running for Congressional District One. I am blessed to be sheriff of Tulsa County, but I think it would be prudent to at least explore the possibility of serving the people of Oklahoma on a much bigger spectrum,” said Sheriff Regalado.

Currently, State Representative Kevin Hern is serving in the role.

Regalado would most likely not be running against Hern for the Republican nomination as Hern is expected to run for Senator Markwayne Mullin’s senate seat.

Last week, Sen. Mullin was nominated for the role of DHS Secretary by President Donald Trump following the firing of Kristi Noem.
