The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office recently announced they solved another cold case, but, the same week, charges were dropped in a previous unrelated cold case.
In November of last year, the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 62-year old Angie Cutnose, who was charged in a 1997 murder near West Tulsa. The 32-year old victim was shot in the chest and killed while visiting a home in Sand Springs, and Cutnose was a suspect early on in the investigation.
At the time of the arrest last year, Tulsa County Sheriff Vic Regalado said it came down to old-fashioned police work. However, according to court documents, the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office filed a motion to dismiss the murder charge against Cutnose on March 17 due to insufficient evidence.
This week, the sheriff’s office announced charges in an unrelated cold case from 18 years ago. The suspect in that case, Alonzo Johnson, is already serving a life sentence from a previous murder conviction.
A representative from the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office said they will not comment on charges dismissed by the district attorney’s office.
