The Special Victims Unit (SVU) got a search warrant to investigate DNA evidence and data on Phillips’ cell phone. Detectives, along with the Oklahoma City Police Department, met Phillips at his place of employment and collected the DNA and phone.

During the examination of Phillips’ phone, they discovered communication with the 17-year-old victim, as well as another child victim in the OKC area. They also found several images and videos depicting children engaged in sexual activity with adults.

With the help of US Marshals, Phillips was arrested in Norman to be charged with First Degree Rape and Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material.
