City of McAlester asks for project feedback as part of planning grant

MCALESTER, Okla. — The City of McAlester is asking residents for input on which community project should be prioritized as part of an upcoming planning grant application.

The online survey asks citizens to share feedback on three potential projects:

  • Improvements to Sixth Street from Carl Albert Parkway to Wichita Avenue.
  • The exploration of public transportation options, such as bus service.
  • Updated planning concepts for the Electric Avenue corridor.

The City emphasized that the survey is focused on planning and design and not construction. Planning grants help communities study needs, develop concepts and prepare projects to compete for future funding.

The survey allows residents to select a preferred project, explain their reasoning through guided questions and rank all three options.

The City said responses will be used in planning efforts and grant application materials.

The survey is open to all McAlester residents. You can find the survey by clicking here.

Residents are encouraged to participate and share the survey with friends and neighbors. The City said community feedback will help guide future planning decisions and position McAlester for potential funding opportunities.
