TULSA, Okla. — Ascension St. John Medical Center has been recognized by the Oklahoma Hospital Association (OHA) Foundation for a Healthy Oklahoma as a Tobacco Treatment Champion of Health for Excellence in Clinical Tobacco Treatment.
“Ascension St. John Medical Center was the first hospital in Tulsa to implement OHA’s clinical tobacco treatment initiative and implement a bi-directional eRefferal from their EMR to Oklahoma Tobacco Helpline for patients ready to quit,” said OHA’S Foundation for a Healthy Oklahoma Executive Director Eric Finley. “Year after year, they go the extra mile to provide tobacco treatment services to their patients, which shows their commitment to the health of their community. They are an invaluable partner on this project and most deservedly have earned this recognition.”
The Tobacco Treatment Champion award is annually bestowed by the OHA to those who display a deep commitment to supporting patients in quitting tobacco.
Ascension St. John worked with OHA to design a comprehensive plan that allows healthcare providers to easily support patients.
