Oilton Mayor Patrick Kennedy resigns, fired as OPWA Chairman

OILTON, Okla. — Patrick Kennedy has resigned from his position as mayor of Oilton after he was removed as Oilton Public Works Authority (OPWA) Chairman.

According to the Oilton City Clerk, the board voted 4-2 in favor of removing Kennedy as the chairman. Then a little after 9:30 p.m., Kennedy announced he was “done” and when asked by the city attorney if that was a resignation, Kennedy said “Yes, they can have it.”

Julia Bagwell, the Vice Mayor, is now serving as acting Mayor and OPWA Chairman until a special election can be held.
