TULSA, Okla. — The Independent Shopkeepers Association (ISA) and PartnerTulsa partnered to present a 2025 State of Retail report for local businesses.

The report gave local retailers insight on the trends, challenges and opportunities they face for the upcoming year along with advice on what they can do to stay afloat through analyzing data trends from last year.

Jonah Toay, the Small Business Development Manager for PartnerTulsa, explained large economic trends affect all businesses, including those in the local area.

“All of these big national issues aren’t just facing large conglomerates—they’re facing the little guy. They’re facing small, independent retailers who don’t have a lot of support networks, so what we’re trying to do is get government to the table and get government in the conversation of how best can the City, how can the state, how can the federal government really help out these independent retailers because they’re the anchor of our local economy.”

Local financial institutions, government employees and small business owners from the Tulsa community were able to attend the event and learn the best ways to build stronger support networks as they prepare to face economic challenges in the year ahead.
