TULSA, Ok – The Tulsa Police Department arrested a man accused of firing multiple shots into a north Tulsa home Sunday night.
Police said officers were called to investigate a shooting near North Sheridan Road and East Pine Street around 9:30 p.m.
It was reported that a man fired four rounds into the house and was walking south on North 68th East Avenue. A caller in the house said their baby was bleeding from a head wound.
Officers found a woman holding a 3-year-old, which had a laceration and was bleeding from the head. The child was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The laceration was believed to be caused by broken glass, and not a bullet.
Police then received more calls reporting a suspect, matching the description of the shooter, had broken into a home nearby but ran away when confronted by an armed homeowner.
Officers found the suspect in the area and took him into custody without incident.
Police said the suspect was identified as 24-year-old Cole Perez.
Perez was booked into the Tulsa County Jail for first degree burglary and possession of a firearm.
During the investigation, officers found that an altercation had taken place inside the mother’s home, but no details were given to police on how the child was injured.
Narcotics were found inside a bedroom shared by adults and the child. Officers completed a DHS referral regarding the situation.
