TPD arrests four suspected of retail thefts

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department says it has arrested four in supected retail thefts.

According to reports, Target employees at the store near 21st and Yale reported seeing three suspects load up $497 worth of merchandise including a backpack and printer ink around 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

The three, later identified as Melissa Palmer, Emily Deharo, and Pablo Medrano, left without paying for the items in a blue Chevy Aveo driven by a fourth person, identified as Oscar Perales.

Police say the suspects then arrived at the Target near 71st and Highway 169 less than an hour later. Palmer went inside and loaded a backpack with around $148 worth of items. When she was confronted by employees, she ran away leaving the items.

Officers arrived on scene and saw Palmer and Medrano go to the Kohl’s on 71st. The fire alarm went off as the two ran out of the store’s fire exit with bags full of $778 worth of merchandise and were confronted by officers. Palmer and Medrano tried to run out the front door but additional officers were waiting and were taken into custody along with Deharo and Perales.

The four were arrested and booked into Tulsa County Jail for three counts of organized retail crime and conspiracy to commit a felony.
