DRUMRIGHT — A former Drumright teacher was recently arrested on complaints of sexual abuse and sexual assault involving students.

The US Marshals Service and the Highway Patrol located former Drumright School teacher 63-year old Bobby Pruitt and took him into custody near Stroud.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation took over the investigation into Pruitt’s behavior and he faces two counts of lewd molestation, two counts of child sexual abuse, two counts of child abuse, and one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. According to the OSBI, local police received allegations of sexual and physical abuse involving Pruitt saying he allegedly made inappropriate contact with two students.

Reports say, Pruitt was placed on administrative leave in October of 2025 and formally resigned from Drumright and turned over his teaching license to the Oklahoma State Board of Education later that month.
