Valentine’s Day: Things to do in Tulsa

By Kirk McCracken

If flowers and chocolates aren’t enough, Tulsa offers diverse options for Valentine’s Day this weekend.

The Performing Arts Center will run romantic performances of “The Sleeping Beauty”, Feb. 14th through the 15th, and there will be themed-concerts, and special dinner events at the Tulsa Club Hotel.

Active couples can join the “Sweetheart Run” on Saturday, while the downtown area features unique experiences like art workshops and live music. For sports fans, they can take their valentine to a Tulsa Oilers game Saturday at the BOK Center which features a Couples Package.

The play “Love Letters” and the King Cabbage Brass Band will be at the Tulsa Theater.

For creative types, there is a Agitsi Stained Glass Hearts Workshop or a Pinot’s Palette Connected Canvas Night.

For something unique, take your sweetheart to visit the Cave House, take a tour of the “Center of the Universe”, or explore the Philbrook Museum of Art. The Broken Arrow Community Playhouse is hosting the play “Almost, Maine” this weekend which is an all-ages show that is perfect for the valentine’s day season. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays.
