Man on the run after stolen car stop at south Tulsa gas station

One person is in custody after Tulsa Police stopped a stolen car at a QuikTrip near 61st Street and Memorial Drive. 

According to Tulsa Police, officers stopped a stolen Dodge Charger at a QuikTrip on Valentine’s Day around 7:30 p.m. 

Officers said two people were in the car, and before officers could park their car, the male suspect left the stolen car and ran inside the store. 

The driver of the car, 19-year-old Rainy Gilbert, followed the man into the store. Officers said the couple ran away on foot through a neighborhood, with the male hopping a fence.

Officers were able to detain Gilbert and book her into the Tulsa County jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, possession of stolen property, and eluding police. 

Tulsa Police are still looking for the male suspect, who they believe was Gilbert’s boyfriend.
