TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Fire Department responded to a grass fire at Harvey Young Airport on Tuesday.

Around 10:18 a.m. on Tuesday, the Tulsa Fire Department received a call reporting the grass fire at Harvey Young Airport, located near South 135th East Avenue and East 14th Street.

When crews responded to the scene, they said the fire was moving across the field incredibly quickly.

Due to the current high winds, grass fires are able to spread further in a shorter amount of time, making them even more dangerous than usual.

Thankfully, crews were able to contain the fire to the field and were then able to extinguish it.
