Arcing power lines leads to evacuation at a south Tulsa Starbucks

TULSA, Okla. — Imagine sitting in a cafe across from the Woodland Hills Mall on a Sunday night. Then, you see the power pole outside on the corner, arching. Flames suddenly appear on the top of the pole. It almost feels like its a scene from the Netflix sci-fi series Stranger Things.

Tulsa Fire Department arrived on scene and evacuated the coffee shop.

The power was shut off and is still out for about seven businesses, according to Wayne Green with Public Service of Oklahoma [PSO]. Green states that a jumper failed causing the arching.

“It was an equipment problem,” said Green.

Service is has now been restored all seven businesses, according to PSO.
