Hillcrest Drive in Bartlesville reopens after asphalt repair

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — After contract crews took just 11 days to repair a glitch found in the asphalt following a resurfacing project last fall, Hillcrest Drive between 20th Street and the roundabout is open, the city of Bartlesville announced.

The project involved removing the top two inches of asphalt from the roadway after it was found to have too much shale in it following a resurfacing project last fall.

β€œNo additional funds were spent for these repairs,” Director of Engineering Micah Siemers said. β€œThat issue was worked out between the contractor and the supplier.”

Siemers commended the contractor, Brent Bell Construction, on a job well done.

β€œWe are very appreciative to Brent Bell Construction for finding the error, and for everything he has done to ensure the quality of this project. Both with the original project and with this repair work, he and his team have completed the assigned work effectively and expeditiously. They’ve done an outstanding job.”
