2022 Tulsa Christmas Parade: What you need to know

TULSA, Okla. — The annual Tulsa Christmas Parade kicks off this weekend!

The theme for this year’s Christmas Parade is Art Deco the Halls. According to the Tulsa Christmas Parade website, the poster has been brought to life by Oklahoma artist Salem Gullo, who “created a color palette and a 1920′s downtown Tulsa Christmas parade scene.”

The parade begins on Saturday, December 10th with a pre-parade party at 10:15 a.m. at 600 S. Cincinnati Ave. The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m.

There’s also going to be an all-new Santa Claus float at this year’s parade. Tulsa Christmas Parade Director, Jessica Gullo, says the new float is going to be quite large.

“It’ll probably be about 12 to 14 feet tall. It’s going to be 52 feet long and 14 feet wide so it’s going to be a very impressive display that takes up at least half of the street,” Gullo told us during the announcement.

“We’re very excited and we’re working with some local designers right in here Tulsa that is going to help design and build it for us.”

This year’s parade route is also going to be a little different. Gullo says the parade will start near East 6th Street and South Cincinnati Avenue and then make its way towards the traditional U-shaped route on Boston, 3rd, and Boulder.
