Bicyclist arrested after collision with police car in south Tulsa

A Tulsa police officer heading to a call Saturday night collided with a man on a bike, officers said.

According to TPD, the officer was traveling east on 61st Street when a bicyclist failed to stop at the red light at 76th E. Ave.

The officer and bicyclist collided in the intersection, officers said.

Officers said the man on the bike, Jamaun Dennis, told officers he was not hurt and refused medical treatment. Police said Dennis tried to leave the scene.

“Dennis was extremely hostile, refused to provide his information and obstructed the collision investigation.” TPD said.

Dennis was arrested and faces charges of obstruction, failure to stop before intersection at red light, and fail to equip bicycle with a front lamp.
