Broken Arrow police adding an electric vehicle to fleet of patrol cars

Tesla Model Y coming to BAPD

The Broken Arrow Police Department will soon have an electric vehicle patrolling the streets.

The department announced it is adding a Tesla Model Y to the fleet.

According to BAPD, the Tesla will be a low profile marked car with subdued graphics and fully lighted.

Officer Chris Walker said the purchase price is a little higher than what they usually spend, but he said it will save the department a significant amount of money over the life of the vehicle.

“After 42 months, this vehicle saves us money.” Walker said.

The department is currently testing out a loaner model before taking delivery of the new squad car.
